Emmy Award-winning actor and devout Orthodox Christian Jonathan Jackson recently visited the Athonite Monastery of Vatopaidi to commemorate the Old Calendar celebration of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.


As reported by vimaorthodoxias, Jackson, who entered the Orthodox Church in 2012, spent most of his time at the Monastery of Vatopaidi, but also visited the monasteries of  Xenophontos and Simonopetra with his eight year old son.

During his pilgrimage to Vatopaidi, Jackson (who publicly thanked the Monks of Mount Athos when receiving one of his Emmys) offered one of his five Emmys to the Panagia through His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios, and received the blessing of the Abbot Efraim.
