Atlanta (Jan. 5, 2017) — Last week teens from 25 communities, their priests, chaperones and athletic coaches came together for a week full of friendly competition, worship and fun.
The annual event was headquartered at the Marriott Century Center and various athletic gyms in the Atlanta area. Youth participated in basketball and volleyball athletic competition, and the annual Bible Bowl Tournament, which this year focused on the Parables of Christ.
In the evenings, youth gathered for dinner provided by AHEPA and had the opportunity to worship together with the new tradition that began last year, “Vespers in the Round.” Following Vespers each night was a planned activity: Bible Bowl, the Amazing Olympic Race, and the concluding Senior Recognition Banquet and Dance.
Each year hundreds of teens flock to the Winter Youth Rally and many note it as the highlight of their winter breaks. Even as they graduate from high school, young adults come back to give of their time as coaches, chaperones or volunteer.
