Out of an abundance of love and concern for our Metropolis clergy families, His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios arranged for a special videoconference call with His clergy to hear and speak with Fr. James Paris, the Chairman of the Archdiocese Benefits Committee. His Eminence stressed the importance of the Clergy Pension Program and then asked Fr. James to report on its current status and the suggestions being considered for its future administration. Fr. James answered many diverse questions from Atlanta clergy and stressed that no final decisions have been made to alter it and clergy will continue to be kept informed. His goal and that of the Archdiocese Benefits Committee is to ensure clergy will not lose what they have invested to date if a new plan were to be adopted. Fr. Paul Kaplanis, Metropolis of Atlanta Clergy Syndesmos Chairman will forward suggestions made to Fr. Mark Leondis, Chairman of the Archdiocese Presbyters Council to share with his committee clergy concerns and recommendations to assist with its future planning efforts. Fr. Mark also answered questions and shared insights from meetings and calls he is involved as Archdiocese Presbyters Council Chairman. He invited clergy with additional concerns to express them to either him or Fr. James. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios offered closing remarks and thanked Bishop Sevastianos, Fr. James, Fr. Mark, Fr. Paul, and our clergy for its participation. His Grace Bishop Sevastianos offered the closing prayer.
