Detroit (Oct. 4, 2016) — His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios participates in the Seventh Annual Bishop's Assembly meeting this week. Held in Detroit, the meeting lasts three days and began this morning with a celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Antiochian Orthodox Basilica of Saint Mary. 
 
The goal of the meeting is to bring Orthodox leadership together to resolve concerns surrounding the issues the Orthodox Church faces today in this country. During this year’s meeting there are plans to host an informational forum on religious liberty and to discuss the status of the Assembly of Bishops after the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church that took place June 2016 in Crete.
