I pray that the second half our Lenten journey to Pascha continues in the same spirit of peace and love, as we prepare to experience our Lord’s Passion, Death, and ultimately, His glorious Resurrection.
Having looked forward to your Diakonia Retreat Center’s own “Day of Renewal” on April 10, it is with sincere regret that I must inform our Metropolis family that this weekend’s forecasted heavy thunderstorms have forced us to cancel this gathering. Though this course of events is not how we wished to mark the “Springtime of the Fast” for our newly reopened property, this decision was reached out of respect for those who are traveling, and in a spirit pf practical necessity.
The DRC still hopes, however, that those interested in helping renew the campus for the year 2021 will coordinate with their parish family to find a convenient date to visit the Center in the future. As the DRC’S new Director, I am still excited to work with you, the people of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta. The Diakonia Retreat Center is a special place of transformation and renewal, and I know that its care is a both a great blessing and a great responsibility. I ask you for your continued prayers for the ministry of the Diakonia Retreat Center, its staff and clergy.
