During the weekend of August 18th-20th, the popular Goya Beach Reach Retreat, sponsored by Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach, Florida, made its dynamic comeback.
Almost one-hundred Goyans with their chaperons from Clearwater, Jacksonville, Melbourne, Orlando, Saint Petersburg, Sarasota, and Tallahassee were excited to travel together with their chaperones to Daytona Beach for a wondeful weekend!
Icebreakers, a delightful night at the Boardwalk, delicious local Daytona ice-cream, games, prizes, food, a day at the sandy beaches, and a round of spiritual sessions focused on anchoring one’s life in Christ are a few examples of a loaded schedule with various thrilling activities.
After the Sunday Divine Liturgy, a wonderful goodbye lunch, and a memorable weekend video, everyone returned home carrying the fondest memories, after pledging a promise to meet again.
Parents, chaperones, and the abovementioned church communities’ leadership should be proud of these Goyans who demonstrated courtesy, politeness, and genuine Christian faith.
The entire parish of Saint Demetrios in Daytona Beach, Florida was ecstatic to host this weekend and is eagerly anticipating next year’s event with another inspiring reunion.
