On the morning of Friday, July 15, 2022, an important member of our family and community fell asleep in our Lord. Reverend Father Regis John Alexoudis, passed away in Wilmington, NC surrounded by his family.
Regis John Alexoudis was born to his beloved parents, John and Mary Alexoudis, in Pittsburgh, PA on November 3, 1953. He is survived by his four children and their spouses – Yany, Kalliopi and Mike, Mika and Emily, Maria and Courtland – as well as his sister, Lilly, his Uncle Peter, and his grandchildren.
Fr. Regis was a prominent light for us all. He possessed an unwavering passion for the church, as well as for community involvement and helping those in need. His life’s mission was to support and advocate for others while spreading God’s word. Throughout the years, he served the Lord in various capacities - from a devoted youth director to an ardent priest to a dedicated chaplain for incarcerated individuals. While continuing his pastoral commitments, he also began a career as a Realtor where he quickly became a beloved staple of the local real estate community and played a vital role in the new beginnings for many families.
Fr. Regis’ greatest pride was his four children. He spent most of his time with his family and friends, always ensuring they were smiling and creating happy memories together – which he never missed capturing on camera. He enjoyed entertaining and making others feel welcomed and at ease. Those around him always felt his warm presence and encouraging spirit. Fr. Regis had a profound impact on so many and will be sorely missed.
