Weeks after the Enthronement of His Eminence Metropolitan Sevastianos of Atlanta, His Eminence made a pastoral visit to Saint Mark Church in Boca Raton, Florida. During his visit, he offered prayers and tonsure for the parish chanters, as well as tonsuring 18 Altar Boys. His Eminence reminded them that service to the Church is indeed a great honor and blessing.
A great joy to serve with the “elders”, Father Alexander Leondis, Father Jim Moulketis, Father Peter Chamberas and Father Dean Paleologos, along with the parish Clergy Father Mark Leondis and Father Anastasios Hallas. Deacons present were Deacons John Christakis, Bryan Giusti and Emanuel Tsarnas.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the Philoptochos and its President, Maria Spiliopoulos, offered His Eminence a gift for his “Agape” Fund, which helps those in need at His Eminence’s discretion.
In the fellowship hall over 700 faithful gathered to with His Eminence “AXIOS” with a cake and greeted our new spiritual father with love and joy. His Eminence prayed with many of the faithful individually and showed his great compassion upon the faithful, young and old.
Following, Metropolitan Sevastianos met with the 45 Catechumens of Saint Mark who are preparing for entry into the Faith. His Eminence lead a question and answer with them, sharing with them the pearls of wisdom. He encouraged them to love like Jesus Christ and follow Jesus example of living a life in humility, sacrifice and peace.
The Saint Mark Church expressed its great gratitude for His Eminence’s visit and looks forward to supporting his vision.
