March 20, 2023The Northeast Florida District Oratorical Festival was held on Saturday, March 18th in St. Augustine, FL, led by Polly Hillier's caring team, and under the spiritual direction of Reverend Father Maximos Politis, the Proistamenos of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. His Eminence, Metropolitan Demetrios of Xanthos was in attendance to bless the event, recognize the participants, and congratulate the advancing speakers.
Participating contestants came from as far as Tallahassee, Melbourne, Jacksonville, and Daytona Beach. Congratulations to Maria Rabbath (Holy Mother of God, Tallahassee) & Konstantina Voula Koulouris (Saint Demetrios, Daytona Beach) who are advancing in the Senior Division, and to Stephen Preddy (Saint John, Jacksonville) & Ivan Rabbath (Holy Mother of God, Tallahassee) who are advancing in the Junior Divisions.
The top four speakers will travel to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Charlotte, NC to participate with their peers in the Metropolis of Atlanta Oratorical Festival.
