On January 28th, 2020, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the Greek-American community of Charlotte, NC, welcomed Archbishop Chysostomos II of Cyprus. In attendance to welcome His Eminence were not only the Clergy of the area and Metropolitan Alexios, but also His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
On January 11, 2020, Anna and Joseph Kokolakis Chaired the Inaugural Blue Jean Ball in Tarpon Springs, Florida, on behalf of the Tampa Bay District Conference. (TBDC). The TBDC was formed by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios to foster better communication and support among Tampa Bay area Greek Orthodox parishes. The event raised more than $110,000 in donations and pledges for the Diakonia Retreat Center (DRC) in Salem, South Carolina. The DRC is owned and operated by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta.

Our beloved Fr. Taxiarhis Vlahos, of Charlotte, NC, fell asleep in the Lord late last week. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios has asked that we pray for his eternal repose and for his beloved Presbytera Giannoula and their family. His life and ministry touched countless souls and we commend his spirit to the Eternal City of our Lord. His funeral was on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
