Cheryl O'Donnell: Empowering Women and Families Across South Carolina
As the Executive Director of Florence Crittenton Programs of SC, Cheryl O'Donnell has been a
driving force behind transformative initiatives that empower pregnant and parenting young
women and girls in foster care across South Carolina. Under her leadership, the organization
has significantly expanded its reach and impact, providing vital support to those who need it
most.
With more than 25 years of experience, Cheryl is a seasoned advocate for women's health and
community well-being. Before joining Florence Crittenton, she worked in the City of Charleston
Mayor’s Office on Aging, where she developed a community response to elder abuse,
championing the rights and safety of vulnerable populations.
As the Regional Director for Enroll America, Cheryl was instrumental in mobilizing local efforts
throughout the South to help uninsured Americans gain access to vital health services. Her
earlier work in Washington, DC, included creating award-winning public awareness campaigns
and advocating for crucial reforms in healthcare for breast cancer survivors, victims of domestic
violence, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University and a Master of Public
Administration from the University of Arizona. She resides in Summerville with her fiance, Brad,
and their rescue dog Monty. Passionate about making a difference, Cheryl continues to inspire
those around her with her unwavering commitment to community service and advocacy.
