The parish community of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, & Irene Greek Orthodox Church in Cumming, GA. broke ground on a 15,000 sq ft. Multi-purpose building on Sunday, January 2nd after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta. His Grace, Bishop Sevastianos also attended and serve liturgy with Metropolitan Alexios and parish Priest Fr. Barnabas Powell. The community has outgrown its current facilities and is now raising funds to develop the 16 acres the parish owns in fast-growing Forsyth County, GA. With over 125 families in the parish and a Sunday School of 100 children, Sts. RNI has a serious need for more space. The current chapel (a renovated house) was over capacity on Groundbreaking Sunday as local dignitaries, the project architect, and several well-wishers from around the area gathered for this milestone occasion for the community.
